Star Wars Summer 2024: Gap Nox, Jecki Lon, & Lanever Villecham

One of my favorite batches so far.

Gap Nox represents that last of my arts done without a white charcoal pencil. One of my weak areas is transition and shading for skin & that pushed me to look for a better "smudging" tool. That being said, I am happy with the result.

Jecki Lon confirmed my decision to incorporate white charcoal. I was initially trying to using them like a white color pencil, but like a seasoned wok, they have eaten so much black charcoal that they impart a smooth grey one white surfaces, but it also smoothed out my shading. My favorite Star Wars related drawing so far. My next focus will be improving hair.

Lanever was a challenge in that he has white/light grey hair. I use white paper so I went with some combination of light greying & giving the hair an outline. Clothing continues to be a challenge.
