Star Wars Spring 2026: Maz Kanata, Darth Maul, & Cthallops

I have to say that this is my favorite batch so far.

Maul is my favorite followed by Cthallops.

With Maz, I felt that I should have committed more to her skin tone and shaded darker, something I would employ with Cthallops. For Maul, I held back on really darkening his clothing out of fear that they would blend in too much with his face tattoos.

Cthallops gave me worry at the start, but I kept going at it, shade layer by shade layer. I also felt more comfortable trying for the bumps found of his skin. Perhaps another around of darker shading would have made him pop even more.

Maul might be a sign that I might be ready to attempt real human faces soon, but for Star Wars, the Aliens only rule stays.
